Fashion Subtraction Pattern Cutting
- Introduction
Course Brief
In the subtraction pattern cutting course, you will explore and experiment with a unique method of hollow construction as developed and taught by designer Julian Roberts.
This pattern cutting technique, known as 'subtraction cutting' or 'zero waste', makes the most of the negative spaces that can be opened up in fabric and falls somewhere between traditional pattern cutting and draping - resulting in experimental garments that break from the boundaries of the usual garment shapes.
